is a great book for someone who is new to a meatless lifestyle. it’s more for females of color, but i think everyone should read it.
introduction to vegan foods!
hello! my name is teri lynn and i’m a vegan mom; i’ve been a vegan for two years and i’m happy with what i’ve accomplished.
i plan on introducing new and old vegetarians and vegans to recipes that they’ve wanted to create; and introducing omnivores to recipes they never thought they would enjoy meatless.
i’ll throw in random recipes for you to create and enjoy.
i’ll cover the basics at first: what to look for when you are choosing a vegan diet, how to cook with fruits, vegetables and faux meats, soy milk and other vegan diary products, vitamins and where to find the nutrients you will have to make up.
it is important to remember when switching to meat free lifestyle that you maintain your weight, you will not lose it. in order to lose weight, you must exercise and if possible, meditate. it is not easy to just give up meat and prance around like a compassionate herbivore.
ALSO:
i cannot stress this enough: switching to veganism is does not give you the right to look down on people who eat meat; or if you are a vegan and have been one it doesn’t make you look compassionate judging someone based on their own personal decisions.
with that being said, i’m glad to welcome you to the leafy greens.
where food is taken seriously and no animals are harmed in the process.
enjoy your meal!
